Karma was a bitch and a half.

Actual rating: 3.5/5 stars

First of all; this was a very good ending to this series. Not everything turned out peachy-perfect – and it was written in the same fun and sarcastic way as the previous books. With a lot more gods that needed to be brought down to Earth.

What lowers my rating is that I felt like I yawned myself through half of this book. It wasn’t boring, per say, but I felt like I was just waiting for things to happen. Like everything was just this far too long build-up to the final battle. Don’t get me wrong; the battle was awesome! But I would have liked if some other interesting and unpredictable things happened before that…

“Whatever you do, don’t break my brother’s heart. You are his world. And if you leave it, it will destroy him.”

Actual rating: 4.3 out of 5 stars

The thing about this series is that every book gets better and better and better. I loved 80% of this book so much and enjoyed the other 20% a lot. There’s action, romance and a lot of sassy remarks that really does not make this the ideal book to read while on a train because you will start laughing all of a sudden and have people staring at you.

I feel like I’m still on a bit of a high from this book and can’t form a proper sentence about all the things I loved, so let me just explain to you guys why I didn’t give this 5 stars. And I am going to hide that behind a cut just in case.

Gods, it was a messed up day when I was the voice of reason.

Actual rating: 3.5/5 stars

Alright, so, first half of the book: slow, a bit boring, not quite sure what was going on.

Second half of the book: what the hell? What? Shit! CRAP!

Final few pages:

Yes, this was a bloody roller coaster. I had a feeling it might – might – happen because it’s the third book in a five book series, aka the middle novel and thus where you kind of expect the twist to be. And it was there, only I didn’t expect it to be as big as it turned out to be.

Even now, while I’m already reading the next novel, I’m still in absolute shock because of the end of this book and still trying to get a grip on it. If the beginning had not been so slow and boring it would have been a 5 star novel in my mind. Now that pulled it down a bit.

ALSO, I’m so bloody excited about the gods actually appearing! I am addicted to Greek gods, people!

Book Report: February 2016

Okay, so February was stressful as heck for me despite the break and the leap day. I honestly spent most of my free time sleeping/lying on the couch binge-watching anime on Netflix (I have become obsessed with anime lately) – or playing Pokémon on my new Nintendo DS, which is also a new thing in my life. I just had no energy to read as much as I wanted to read. I still read several books, but I know I could have read more if I hadn’t been so tired.

Anyhow; monthly report! Inspired by C.R.M Nilsson – link in the sidebar!

Pure (Covenant #2)

Alright, so this book was definitely better than the first book. I had less Vampire Academy flashbacks – even though they were still there. I also liked that there were a lot more Greek mythology references in this one than the first.

There were definitely a feels roller-coaster throughout this book and that excites me about the next book!

First of all; I love the main character, Alex. Definitely a character that I enjoyed reading about, but also one of the few reasons why I enjoyed this book and managed to give it 3 stars. Why? Because I thought it reminded me way, way too much of Vampire Academy. Literally; while I was reading this I could suddenly zone out and think “hey, this is just like this scene in VA“. Not ideal.
I did like the background story of these people as well, even though I kept loosing track of what was what. But I’m going to continue with this series when I have time and then I will, hopefully, get a better idea of what’s happening.
