Didn’t like this as much as the first book, sadly. Still in love with the world and the characters – although there were times when I felt like kicking Riyah’s leg beneath a table or something to make her see sense (which, considering who she is, would probably have been worse for me than for her).
However I was not a fan of the love triangle that happened (I was a Darren/Riyah shipper from the start so don’t you dare break that up) and also I felt like everything happened at such a rapid speed that I could hardly understand it, mainly because of that this book is about 300 pages long but covers 4 years of events. It felt a bit jumpy because you couldn’t follow much of what happened during one year without having to skip a lot of what happened the next. I would have loved if this had been split into two 300pg books covering two years each – that would have left a lot more time to develop certain events and relationships. I mean, yes, Darren/Riyah was developed, but what about Alex/Ella? I feel like we should know more about that, considering it’s Riyah’s twin and best friend dating…
Anyway, not going to quit this series, but might wait until next year to continue reading.
