They communicated frequently with Rachel throughout the week. She told them of the mansions that had appeared somewhat outside of town that they could inhabit and of Mary Margaret stepping up as Mayor of Storybrooke, since Regina was nowhere to be found. The former princess did, however, not look as entirely perfect for the position as Regina had; she might have ruled a kingdom in the Enchanted Forest, but ruling Storybrooke was apparently a different matter.
However, Mayor Mary Margaret had insisted that their return should be celebrated and thus she had decided to organize a cocktail party in the town hall on Friday evening.
“Dresses for the girls and suits for the boys”, she had said when Rachel had surrendered her phone to her on Monday evening. “Oh, and please tell me if someone’s allergic and I’ll make sure to alert Granny about that. And what sort of music should we have? Something that you can dance to, certainly, but I don’t think I can find a string quartet in time, let alone bring it to Storybrooke. Should we have assigned seats? No, that’s too formal…”
Even after Rachel – with David’s help – had pried the phone from the Mayor’s hand the group could hear her excitedly question and answer various things that should be prepared for Friday.
